Who We Are

Reservoir Consulting LLC was founded by Brandon Kolar in 2018 with a single mission: to be the most reliable, trustworthy, and adept Petroleum Consulting firm in Oklahoma City. We approach each of our clients with fresh eyes to develop efficient and unique strategies.

Founding Owner & Principal - Brandon Kolar

Mr. Kolar began working in the Oil & Gas Industry at a fairly young age, managing workovers and re-completions for a small operator at the age seventeen.  Mr. Kolar continued this early exposure to the oil patch by working as a Landman during his undergraduate college years. Mr. Kolar ran title, executed Oil & Gas leases, performed lease curative, and negotiated right-of-ways for Stable Land Services in Oklahoma and Kansas from 2012-2013.

After finishing his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Oklahoma in 2014, Mr. Kolar began his engineering career in the Oil & Gas business as a Reservoir Engineer for Ferrell Oil Company located in Oklahoma City.  There, Mr. Kolar performed decline curve analysis and various volumetric and petrophysical calculations to properly appraise the value of mineral rights, which Ferrell Oil engaged in acquiring and divesting.  Ferrell Oil also engaged in a large number of non-operating interests in wells, new and old, which Mr. Kolar analyzed and managed accordingly. Mr. Kolar’s time at Ferrell Oil culminated in a large mineral acquisition and subsequent divestiture of large standalone sales package of over 2000 net mineral acres in the area that would come to be known as the core of the STACK play in Oklahoma.

In late 2015, Mr. Kolar bid farewell to Ferrell Oil to pursue a role with Schlumberger Inc. as a Field Engineer running open-hole logs.  Mr. Kolar graduated at the top of the Schlumberger Petrophysics Class among over fifty candidates from across the world. He was immediately promoted and running the most high-end and exotic reservoir analysis tools that Schlumberger had to offer.  Mr. Kolar was Instrumental in the field-testing of the new missed-pay research tool, the PNX, that utilizes high-energy bursts of neutrons to determine porosity and hydrocarbon saturation behind casing in existing wells.

In early 2016, Mr. Kolar, feeling he had garnered succinct technical field experience, returned to work at an Exploration & Production Company in Tulsa-- Jericho Oil Corporation.  At Jericho Oil, Mr. Kolar was responsible for all aspects of Petroleum Engineering & Operations, including biannual preparation of a 1P, 2P, and 3P reserve report, workover and completion design and supervision, drilling design and supervision, field development and optimization, OCC regulatory testimony, and strategic corporate planning.

Mr. Kolar left Jericho Oil in 2018 and founded Reservoir.Consulting, to provide consulting services including reserve evaluations, reserve report development, asset marketing, A&D advisement, and regulatory testimony at the Oklahoma Corporation Commission.
